This is about wind...

...and grasping it, in terms of engineering: a thing called anemometry.

Anemometry helps answering questions like:

  • Can we rely on windpower?
  • Is there more wind on weekends?
  • Is there more wind on afternoons? Up to what heights?
  • Will a wind mill blade work in reversed flow?
  • Are wind speed fluctuations random?
  • What does this imply for averaging, turbine loads, ...?

It touches some of the grand issues: diversity, energy, common wealth, civil society, ...

Be inspired, stranger, by the power of wind!
